NAWT AND SEAL SANCTUARY JOIN FORCES TO HIGHLIGHT DANGEROUS DOG TOYS

The National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT) has joined forces with The Sea Life Trust - Cornish Seal Sanctuary, to encourage animal-loving dog owners to watch out for seals when visiting the beach with their pooch.

The charity recently caught up with their friends at the Sanctuary, who warned about the dangers of ring-style frisbees, and the harm they can cause to wildlife.   They also provided NAWT dog re-homers with information and advice on what to do if you ever come across a seal pup whilst out on a walk.   Dog toys aren´t fun for all "pups".   Read More.

FIRST SEAL PUP OF THE SEASON ARRIVES AT THE SANCTUARY AFTER RESCUE FROM BUSY CORNISH BEACH

The Cornish Seal Sanctuary has seen a very early start to their rescue season, with the arrival of its first seal pup admitted to the Seal hospital.

The pup named "Maggot", in line with the Sanctuary´s "Bugs & Mini Beasts" theme for the new season, was rescued by British Divers Marine Life Rescue from Porthtowan beach on a busy summer´s day.   Read More.

SOARING FOR SEALS - FUNDRAISING MANAGER OVERCOMES HER BIGGEST FEAR - FOR THE LOVE OF SEALS

Fundraising Manager, Leanne Attwood, alongside twelve fearless Cornish Seal Sanctuary supporters, will be free-falling 10,000 feet at 120mph as they all "Skydive for Seals" on Saturday the 11th of May 2024.   Supporters of the Cornish Seal Sanctuary have been fundraising in advance of their adrenalin fuelled weekend at the Cornish Parachute Club in St Agnes, Cornwall, with nearly £3,000 being raised already. MUCH ADO ABOUT PUFFIN!

The Cornish Seal Sanctuary are so excited to announce that ten rescue puffins have arrived safely with them after being relocated from their sister SEA LIFE TRUST Beluga Whale Sanctuary in Iceland.

All ten of the resident puffins are non-releasable rescued birds who were rehabilitated by the charity in Iceland before being carefully transported to their new home at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Gweek. Read More.

BEAVER KIT GRADUATION DAY!

The Seal Sanctuary are thrilled to share that their three beaver kits have successfully graduated from the beaver nursery enclosure to a fantastic new four-acre habitat.

With the help of the specialist site teams, a lot of perseverance (and a huge net) all three beavers have been safely moved to their new home.   Read More.

CORNISH SEAL SANCTUARY ISSUES SEAL PUP WARNING AMID WILD WINTER STORMS

Blustery storm conditions have sparked a warning from the Cornish Seal Sanctuary about young pups struggling along our coastlines.

The Sanctuary, based in Gweek, near Helston, is urging people to keep their eyes peeled for the grey seal pups amid a flurry of calls from concerned wildlife spotters.   Read More.

SANCTUARY WELCOMES BABY BEAVERS FOR FIRST TIME IN TWO YEARS

The Cornish Seal Sanctuary is starting 2024 with three new additions as it welcomes a family of young Eurasian beavers to Secret Creek for the first time in two years.

The kits, who are less than a year old, arrived at the Sanctuary as orphans after being translocated by the Beaver Trust.   Read More.
