Tykey was rescued on 20th November 2021
Tykey, a 3 weeks old male grey (whitecoat) seal pup, was rescued from Northumberland on 20th November 2021 by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) marine mammal medics. He was separated from his mum after the Arwen storm.

He was looked after for a few days at various holding BDMLR centres during his journey by the medics to Cornwall where there was a space available at the Seal Sanctuary in Gweek on 6th December 2021.

Tykey Update - 28th December 2021 : Tykey´s wounds are healing well on his rear flippers. He currently weighs 17.5kgs.

His flipper tag ID number is SL118 (white).
Update - 30th January 2022 : Tykey is currently in nursery pool 4 and weighs 26kg, he just needs to put on some more weight before being released back in the wild.

Update - 6th March 2022 : It was such a beautiful sunny winter´s morning when it was time for Tykey along with Reef, Cherry, Stormy and Turtle, to be released back into the wild on 5th March 2022 at Dollar Cove.
