Update - 26th March 2023 : During Turmeric´s time in the hospital, the team noticed that one of his eyes was at a high risk of rupture. The team focused on trying to save his eye for the past month but unfortunately, it did not improve. Turmeric received an operation to have the eye removed last week. The operation went really well and lasted about an hour and a half, he also breathed mostly for himself, which is amazing!
The eye area will be quite swollen for a while until the wound starts to heal. Turmeric is on antibiotics and pain relief for the next 7 days as well as receiving daily eye cleaning from our animal experts. He will start feeling a lot more comfortable now as the build-up of pressure behind his eye is now gone. The team suspect he will make a full recovery and hopefully be released into the wild soon.
