Taffy was rescued on 22nd October 2020

Taffy, a 6 weeks old female grey seal pup, was rescued on 22nd October 2020 from Sandymouth beach in Bude by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) marine mammal medics.
She had a swollen and infected wound on her left hock.
This pup was taken to one of the BDMLR´s holding facilities until a pen was made available for her at the Sanctuary´s hospital on 28th October 2020.

Update - 31st October 2020 : Once Taffy has finished her course of treatment and put on some more weight.
She will be moved outside to the nursery pools for her next stage of rehabilitation and to learn how to compete for fish during feeding time with other rescued seal pups. Taffy is currently in hospital pen number 4 and weighs 25kgs.

Update - 6th December 2020 : Taffy is in nursery pool 2 with another rescued seal pup, Poppadom. They are currently learning how to dive and swim for their fish during feeding time. Once they have put on weight, the pups can be released back out into the wild. The wound on his hock is healing very nicely.
Taffy´s flipper ID tag number is SL113 (green).

Update : 2nd January 2021 - An amazing way to start the first day of the year - releasing of five seal pups back into the sea during the morning of 1st January 2021!
Taffy along with Eliza, Hetty, Truffle and Camembert have completed their rehabilitation and the time came for them to be released from Dollar Cove.
