Crème Brûlée was rescued on 25th February 2021
Crème Brûlée, 12 weeks old male grey seal pup, was rescued on 21st February 2021 from Porthgwidden by marine mammal medics from the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR).

He was found with unusual breathing and coughing, and signs of a respiratory infection. He was a little underweight at 21kg, and a little small for his age at 2ft long.

Creme Brulee The pup was taken to one of the BDMLR´s holding facilities and stayed there until a pen became available on 2nd March 2021 at the Sanctuary´s seal hospital.

He spent some time in the seal hospital in his own pen, receiving antibiotics for his respiratory infection and was put on a feeding schedule to help him gain some weight.
Update - 27th March 2021 : Crème Brûlée has finished his course of antibiotics, and was then moved to the nursery pools on 11th March 2021 where he can continue going through rehabilitation, learn how to socialise with other seal pups and get his weight up ready for his release!

Creme Brulee Update - 19th April 2021 : Crème Brûlée is now in the rehabilitation pool and currently weighs 26kgs.

Update : 30th April 2021 - Crème Brûlée along with Dumpling, Halloumi. Kipper and Scampi have completed their rehabilitation and the time came for them to be released back into the wild from Dollar Cove on 30th April 2021.
