Zirion was rescued on 5th December 2011
Zirion was rescued from Aberystywth in Wales on the 5th December 2011, weighing 12kg had puncture wounds to his body and gingeriest but aged around 3 and 4 weeks old. This pup was taken to the RSPCA´s West Hatch Wildlife Centre for treatment.

He was transferred to the National Seal Sanctuary on Tuesday 20th March 2012 for his next stage of rehabilitation and to learn how to compete for fish with other seals and then finally being released back into the wild.

Update: 24th April 2012 - Zirion is doing really well in the convalescent pool and putting on weight. The rescued pups are enjoying the piggy back rides around the pool with the resident seals.
Update: 16th July 2012 - Zirion was released back into the wild on 2nd July 2012 along with Stephen Fry and Dynamite.
