THE CORNISH SEAL SANCTUARY´S SQUAD - 11TH NOVEMBER 2023

The Sanctuary´s Squad is almost here! Join the team on Saturday 11th of November 2023 for three hours of activity sessions to help kids get hands-on with practical conservation.

From fun sessions in to the nature area to activities with the resident animals, there´s plenty to do.

CONNIE´S CREATURES - 25TH OCTOBER 2023 - FROM 10am TO 5pm

Join the Cornish Seal Sanctuary for a ghoulish day with Connie´s Creatures as she unveils her spine-chilling bone collection, shedding light on the eerie anatomy of our beloved Cornish marine species with this interactive natural history exhibition????

THE CORNISH SEAL SANCTUARY´S SQUAD - 9TH SEPTEMBER 2023

The Sanctuary´s Squad fun session was held in the nature area to activities with the resident animals - there was plenty to do.

For example activities included:-

- Checking beaver camera traps
- Bird counting
- Seal scatter feeds
- Bug hunting

The September´s session was from 1pm to 4pm.

SUMMER SUPERSTARS - 22ND JULY - 3RD SEPTEMBER 2023
Become a Seal Superstar and make your pledge to protect our oceans this summer ??

To get your Seal Superstar Passport, you´ll need to learn how to make bracelets from ocean waste, watch the Sanctuary´s seal pup rescue demonstrations and discover more about our Superstar of the Week.

Other fun activities include (but are not limited to) Lily the mascot meet-and-greets, daily talks and feeds, and the quiz trail!

STEP INTO NATURE WITH WILDLIFE WEEK - 27TH MAY - 4TH JUNE 2023
The Cornish Seal Sanctuary´s family-friendly fun run was back on-site this year after a break following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Step into nature with Wildlife Week at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary??

This jam-packed week of activities kicks off from 27th May - 4th June 2023 and included the "Big Wildlife Count" survey, daily wildlife workshops, arty activities, and more!

The Seal Sanctuary excited to announce the brand-new Golden Ticket Scavenger Hunt.   Each day, there will be a Golden Ticket hidden around the Sanctuary for you to find!   If you can find it before time runs out, you will win an exclusive Behind the Seals tour that very day.

SPRINT FOR SEALS IS BACK FOR 2023 - SUNDAY 14TH MAY 2023
The Cornish Seal Sanctuary´s family-friendly fun run is back on-site this year after a break following the Covid-19 pandemic.

So, join them on Sunday 14th May 2023 for a hilly 3km run around the beautiful Sanctuary - and don´t forget to wave at the seals as you go past??

The tickets which included a t-shirt, medal and day entry into the Sanctuary. The Seal Sanctuary also be handing out prizes to the top three sponsorship fundraisers!

IT´S TIME FOR THE SANCTUARY´S PENGUIN EGGSTRAVAGANZA
During Easter, the Cornish Seal Sanctuary are bringing a whole load of feathered fun - all in celebration of the penguin friends.   Lots of themed events and activities for the family to get stuck into.

From 25th March to 16th April 2023, take part in the Sanctuary´s Mystery Egg Trail, hear about the special penguin talks and more - residents can´t wait to see you there!

MEET THE SEAL PUPS - VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE!
If you can´t get to the Seal Sanctuary, or just want to find out the latest from the seal hospital, then why not join the members of the Animal Care Team on their "Meet the pups - Live Virtual Hospital Tour" - 8th & 22nd January 2023, 5th & 19th February 2023 and 5th March 2023 at 3pm - For more information, please go to the Sanctuary´s facebook page.

All proceeds from this go towards funding the vital work to care for seal pups and residents at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary.

SEAL PUP MANIA! - HALF TERM - FEBRUARY 2023
Dive into an ocean of fun this February half term with SEAL PUP MANIA! ??
This event is all about celebrating the vital work rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing pups around the Cornish coastline.   With pups still in the Seal Hospital and nursery pools, see the work in action and watch the rescue demos.   The Sanctuary also has a brand new story-time event with Lily the Seal, competitions and more - so, don´t miss out!   Click here for more information.

SEPTEMBER - APRIL : DON´T MISS THE SANCTUARY´S RESCUED SEAL PUPS
The grey seals mating season begins around September time, this also coincides with rougher seas and storms approaching.   What this means is that during this time the staff get a lot of seal pup call outs.   The British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) and the Cornish Seal Sanctuary rescues between 70 and 80 pups each year.   As the leading Seal Rescue Centre in Europe and the only one in Cornwall, the sanctuary then becomes home to these pups while they are rehabilitated until they are ready for release.   The hospital and pools will be full and it´s the perfect time to for a visit.
