Simon was found with a lot of injuries on his body, flippers and around his eye, and was coughing a lot.

The team brought him back to clean his wounds and see if he had any other internal infection that needed to be sorted out.
Simon was put on special medication to help with his infected wounds.

Update : 1st August 2011 - Simon has finished his course of medication and is doing really well!
His wounds are clearing up nicely, and he´s already feeding on whole herring. It won´t be long before he is hand feeding for himself on whole herring.

Update : 6th August 2011 - Simon is now hand feeding! He loves gulping down every fish we offer him.
All Simon has to do now is start feeding for himself and reach 20kg and he can join the 6 other pups in the resident pool outside!

Update: 28th October 2011 - Simon along with the other six rescued seal pups are going to be released in November 2011!
They are fully rehabilitated and the animal care team are certain that it´s time for these little ones to go
back to the wild.

Update: 18th November 2011 - Simon along with Lisa, Robbie, Vicky, Katy, Linda and Tracey were returned to the wild on 16th November 2011 at Snettisham beach as featured on ITV´s Daybreak programme. Click here to watch the video on Daybreak.
