Linda is an ex-rehab seal! She is a year old, and was rehabilitated at a different rescue centre last year.

There, she had the name "Malibu Stacey". Linda had several cuts on her belly and rear flippers and was bleeding when we found her.
We brought her back to our hospital and cleaned all her wounds and started her on precautionary treatments.
|
As she is older, Linda went straight onto whole fish, and has been eating very thoroughly!
Linda weighed 20kg when she came in, however, when she was released back in January 2011, she weighed 38kg.

Update: 18th July 2011 - Linda´s faeces results show that Linda has "lungworm", which is a parasitic worm that lives in the lungs of the seals. However, a one-off treatment will cure this, and this was given to Linda today. Although she has lungworm, she is a very bright and active seal. We will collect more faeces in approximately one week to confirm Linda is free of lungworm.

Update: 19th July 2011 - Linda is now on 1kg of fish per feed! She is a growing girl and is enjoying every fish we give her. It certainly won´t be long until she is put into our resident pool
with Sally, Amber and Tyne.

Update: 21st August 2011 - This photo of Linda was taken on 19th July 2011 in the outside seal enclosure, she spends most of her day relaxing on the side.
Linda´s flipper tag number is 62023 (orange).

Update: 28th October 2011 - Linda along with the other six rescued seal pups are going to be released in November 2011!
They are fully rehabilitated and the animal care team are certain that it´s time for these little ones to go
back to the wild.

Update: 18th November 2011 - Linda along with Lisa, Robbie, Vicky, Katy, Simon and Tracey were returned to the wild on 16th November 2011 at Snettisham beach as featured on ITV´s Daybreak programme.
