Yoghurt was rescued on 26th March 2021
Yoghurt, 2-3 months old female grey seal pup, was rescued on 26th March 2021 from Wherrytown, Penzance by marine mammal medics from the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR).

She was found with suspected respiratory infection with lots of coughing and phlegm coming up. Also had a high temperature of 39 degrees and weighed 28.5kgs.

Yoghurt Update - 19th April 2021 : Yoghurt is still on a course of medication in the hospital. In the next week or so, she will be moved down to the outside nursery pools for her next stage of rehabilitation. Currently weighs 24.5kgs.

Update - 30th April 2021 : Yoghurt is doing great and has now been moved to one of the outside nursery pools where she can swim and dive for her food.

Once she has gained a little more weight, she can be moved to the rehabilitation pool with some of the other rescued seal pups, where she can socialise and compete for her food as they do in the wild!

Yoghurt Update - 15th May 2021 : Yoghurt is doing really well and is now in the rehabilitation pool, it will not be too long before she is returned back into the wild soon. She weighs 30.5kgs.

Update : 31st May 2021 - Yoghurt along with Bratwurst, Charsiu, Croissant, Dosa, Falafel and Jammie Dodgers have completed their rehabilitation and the time came for them to be released back into the wild from Dollar Cove on 26th May 2021.
