Winkle was rescued on 11th February 2022
Winkle, a 12 weeks old female grey seal pup, was rescued from Mawgan Porth on 11th February 2022 by Grace, a member of the animal care team, along with members of British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) marine mammal medics.

The pup weighed 20kg so a fair weight but lots of mucus from the nostrils, very ruckly breathing and lots of mouth breathing. Also had minor wounds to her flippers.
Winkle Update - 24th February 2022 : Winkle is still in the hospital pen 2, she currently weighs 18kgs. In the next week or so, she will be moved down to the outside nursery pools for her next stage of rehabilitation.

Update - 6th March 2022 : Winkle has been moved down to the outside nursery pool for her next stage of rehabilitation and to learn how to compete for fish during feeding time.

Her flipper tag ID number is SL134 (white).

Update - 2nd April 2022 : Winkle along with Wave have reached their target release weight of at least 30kg+ and were returned to the wild on 27th March 2022 at Dollar Cove.
