Tulsi was rescued on 9th January 2023

Tulsi, a 12 weeks old female grey seal pup, was rescued on the 9th of January 2023 from Hollywell Bay by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) marine mammal medics.

She was found very lethargic and dehydrated with minor wounds and a dry cough.

The pup was taken to the BDMLR´s seal hospital for initial treatment and care until a pen was made available for her at the Sanctuary´s hospital at Gweek on 16th January 2023.
Tulsi Update - 22nd January 2023 : Tulsi was prescribed a course of treatment to help with her cough. Once she gains a few more kilos, Tulsi will be moved to the outside nursery pools to socialise with the other rescued seal pups. She currently weighs 17.7kg.

Her flipper tag ID number is SL176 (white).

Update - 4th February 2023 : Tulsi has recently been moved to the outside nursery pools for her next stage of rehabilitation.

She is learning to swim and to compete for fish during feeding time with another rescued seal pup named Saffron. Once they have put on a bit more weight, they will be released back into the wild.
Update - 25th February 2023 : It is always a good day when the Animal Care Team return the rescued seal pups back into the wild where they belong, but at the same time it is a bit emotional saying goodbye after being with them for the past 2-3 months.

Tulsi (photo below right) along with Cardamom, Fennel and Onion Powder were loaded in the Sanctuary´s trailer and drove them to Perranuthnoe for the release on 23rd February 2023.  As you can see Tulsi was out of the trailer first.
