Catriona said "My younger son, Lowen (age 7) and I, had taken our dogs to Fisherman´s Cove near the Halzephron Inn on Sunday morning for our usual walk. As we walked down the slipway, we saw a baby seal stranded on the beach, trying to nestle itself into one of the coves. I could see puncture wounds in its tail and lower belly. It was conscious and alert but crying out. It was extremely distressing to see an animal in pain."
"We immediately turned around and put our dogs safely in the boot of the car before returning to call the Seal Sanctuary. We remained on the slipway for nearly two hours, keeping other dog walkers away while maintaining a safe distance from the seal."
