Taco was rescued on 4th June 2021
Taco, 2-3 weeks old whitecoat female seal pup, was rescued from Carfan in Pembrokeshire on the 4th June 2021 after being found separated from her mum.

Grey seal pups are usually born between September and January so she was born at a very unusual time for his species.

She was taken in by the RSPCA for a few days and then moved down to the Sanctuary to continue her rehabilitation on 14th June 2021.

Taco It has been another busy seal pup season at the Sanctuary, with 59 pups going through the Sanctuary´s specialist rehabilitation programme.

June is normally when the Sanctuary start to come to the end of releasing seal pups that have recovered, so the team were very surprised to have another pup as young as Taco in their care.

Update - 6th July 2021 : Taco is now in good health and loves her fish, she is already starting to gain weight. She is still a little small for her hospital pool to be filled with water as she doesn´t have enough fat to keep herself warm in the water. When Taco reaches 15kgs, she will be allowed short swims to build her swimming muscles and learn to feed in water. Once Taco really good at that, she can move to the outside nursery pools.
