Sushi was rescued on 23rd December 2020
Sushi, 6 weeks old female grey seal pup, was rescued on 23rd December 2020 from Little Fistral beach in Newquay by marine mammal medics from the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR).

She was found malnourished.

The pup was taken to one of the BDMLR´s holding facilities and stayed there until a pen became available on 5th January 2021 at the Sanctuary´s seal hospital.

Sushi Update - 27th January 2021 : Sushi is now in the outside nursery pools for her next stage of rehabilitation and to learn how to dive and to socialise with other rescued seal pups. She currently weighs 25kgs.

Her flipper tag ID number is SL129 (green).
Update : 2nd March 2021 - Sushi, along with Chips, Basil, Poppadom and Pilchard have completed their rehabilitation and the time came for them to be released back into the wild from Dollar Cove on 1st March 2021.
