Stew was rescued on 11th April 2021
Stew, two months old male grey seal pup, was rescued on 11th April 2021 from St Ives Bay by marine mammal medics from the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR).

This pup was found malnourished and wounds to his body.

Stew Update - 19th April 2021 : Stew is currently in the hospital pen number 4. Once he has completed his medication, he will be moved down to the outside nursery pools in the coming weeks. Currently weighs 19kgs.

Update - 16th May 2021 : Stew is now in the outside nursery pool 1 with another rescued seal pup to learn how to socialise and compete for his food, after which he can be moved to the larger rehabilitation pool. Stew currently weighs 19kgs.

His flipper tag ID number is SL150 (green).

Stew Update - 21st June 2021 : Stew is slowly putting on weight, he currently weighs 22kgs. The ideal release back to the wild weight is 30kgs.

Stew is sharing his nursery pool number 4 with another rescued seal pup named Schnitzel.

Update - 25th June 2021 : Stew along with another rescued seal pup, Schnitzel, were released back into the wild on 24th June 2021.
