Shogi was rescued on 25th November 2015
Shogi, approx. 4-5 weeks old female grey seal pup, was rescued on the 25th November 2015 from Kynance Cove by Emma and Alex, two members of the staff at the Seal Sanctuary.

The pup was found to be underweight at only 19kgs, multiple superficial wounds to flippers and the back of her head, rear left flipper and also had a large swelling on the fifth digit.

Luckily some of the Seal Sanctuary´s visitors were on the beach too, and took this photo of Shogi!
Shogi Update - 1st January 2016 : Shogi is now in nursery pool number 2 for her next stage of rehabilitation and learning how to compete for fish with another rescued seal pup named Backgammon.

Her flipper tag number is 69 (blue).

Update - 22nd May 2016 : Shogi is now in her final stage of rehabilitation before being released back into the wild. She is having her final health checks done whilst putting on the last kilograms to reach the target release weight of 35kgs.

Update - 30th May 2016 : Early in the morning of the 27th May 2016 Shogi along with Hot Potato and Jumanji were released back into the wild at Gunwalloe.
