Sagaland was rescued on 20th December 2015
Sagaland, approx. 6-8 weeks old male grey seal pup, was rescued on the 20th December 2015 from Porthminster beach in St Ives by Dave & Lesley Jarvis and Tim Bain, members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) team. She was found to have minor wounds on her flippers and also had a swollen abscess on one of the front flipper. Weighed 21kgs.

Sagaland Update - 1st January 2016 : Since being on antibiotics, the swelling has gone down and the abscess and minor wounds have cleared.

Update - 25th February 2016 : Sagaland is in the convalescent pool for his final stage of rehabilitation and learning how to compete for fish during feeding time with the resident adult seals and rescued seal pups before being released back to the wild.

Update - 10th May 2016 : Sagaland´s flipper tag number is 79 (blue).
Update - 14th May 2016 : Sagaland along with Backgammon, Fantastica, Tiddlywinks, Pie Face, Quiz and Hungry Hungry Hippo were released back into the wild on 10th May 2016 at Gwithian. Click here to watch a short video filmed by Grace Jones.
