Rockfish was rescued on 23rd January 2022

Rockfish, a 12 weeks old female grey seal pup, was rescued from Porthoustock by members of the animal care team on 23rd January 2022. She was found with blood on her flipper and a swollen nail on her right flipper. Also she was malnourished.
The vets have prescribed a course of antibiotics and the team are cleaning her wounds daily. When she has put on a little more weight, Rockfish will be moved down to the outside nursery pools for her next stage of rehabilitation.

Update - 30th January 2022 : Rockfish has been in the hospital for a few days now and is responding well to treatment.

Update - 24th February 2022 : Rockfish is currently in the outside nursery pool 2 and learning how to compete for fish with other rescued seal pups during feeding time. She weighs 26kg.

Update - 6th March 2022 : Rockfish is almost ready to be returned to the wild in the next few weeks, she currently weighs 28kg.

Update - 22nd March 2022 : Rockfish along with Nurdle and Crabs have completed their rehabilitation and were released back into the wild on 21st March 2022 at Porthtowan beach.
