Inspiring the next generation of Marine Conservationists with LEGO® fun!

As part of their summer activities onsite, The Cornish Seal Sanctuary is excited to announce creative and educational workshops for children, focusing on the importance of marine conservation.
With creative workshops throughout the day, including seal pup rescue demonstrations and informative talks from the charity´s dedicated team, the sanctuary is hoping to inspire the next generation of ocean conservationists.
Alongside these activities, children can participate in The LEGO® Group´s "Build the Change" programme. Children will be able to learn about real life sustainability challenges creating their own ideas to protect Sea Turtles, building with LEGO® bricks.
Children will reflect on ways the changing climate threatens animals like sea turtles, then show their own brilliant ideas for protecting them, all while learning through play.
Starting on Thursday 25th July 2024, the event will run for six weeks, providing ample opportunity for families to participate.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Conservationists
The Sanctuary aims to engage young minds with hands-on activities that inspire creativity and environmental awareness.
By combining fun with education, this event encourages children to explore the wonders of marine life and the critical role of conservation.
"Our mission here at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary is to inspire a love for marine life and a commitment to protecting it," said Sarah Pegg, General Manager at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary.
Through activities like the LEGO® Build The Change Programme and seal pup rescue demonstrations, we hope to educate and inspire the next generation of ocean guardians.
During the event, children and their families will also have the chance to learn about the SEA LIFE TRUST´s ongoing efforts to protect our world's oceans through conservation projects and beach cleans.
The Cornish Seal Sanctuary, located in Gweek, Cornwall, is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured and orphaned seals, with around 60 seal pups coming through their doors each year. The Sanctuary is also home to resident seals and Icelandic puffins who cannot be released due to lifelong conditions and injuries.
