Pork Pie was rescued on 18th October 2020
Pork Pie, a 4-5 weeks old male grey seal pup, was rescued on 18th October 2020 from Bude by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) marine mammal medics.

He was very lethargic, underweight and had lots of infected wounds all over his body. Also very congested and finding it hard to breath properly. He was taken to one of the BDMLR´s holding facilities until a pen was made available for him at Gweek´s Seal Hospital the next day.

Pork Pie Update - 31st October 2020 : The pup was prescribed a course of antibiotics and is feeling much better now. He is currently in hospital pen number 3.

Update - 4th December 2020 : Pork Pie is slowly putting on weight, he is in the rehab pool along with Eliza, Tim Tam, Truffle and Hetty. Once he reaches 30+kgs, Pork Pie will be released back into the wild. Currently weighs 22kgs.

Seal Release - 4th January 2021 Update - 6th January 2021 : Pork Pie along with Tim Tam and Grapefruit were safely released back to the sea on 4th January 2021 at Dollar Cove.

They have all successfully completed their rehabilitation and are now back in their natural habitat, healed from their ailments and injuries.
