Pong was rescued on 22nd September 2019
Pong, a 3 days old male whitecoat seal pup, was rescued from Porthcothan beach on 22nd September 2019 by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) Medics and relayed to Gweek.

The pup was monitored for 24 hours by BDMLR before a decision was made to rescue it, the pup must have been separated from his mum. Pong weighed 12.5kgs.
Pong Update - 13th October 2019 : Pong is currently in the isolation pen of the hospital. As you can see he is starting to shed his white fur. Pong is so handsome!

He currently weighs 16.5kgs.

Update - 25th November 2019 : Pong is currently in the rehabilitation pool with other rescued seal pups. He weighs 28kgs so it will not be too long before Pong is returned back into the wild in the next month or so. Just needs to put on a few more pounds.

Update - 5th December 2019 : Pong has completed his rehabilitation at the Seal Sanctuary and was released back into the wild at Porthtowan on 2nd December 2019 along with other rescued pups, Bridget Jones, Smee, Baloo, Mowgli and Arwen.
