Peppercorn was rescued on 25th January 2023

Peppercorn, a 12 weeks old female grey seal pup, was rescued on the 25th of January 2023 from Instow beach near Appledore by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) marine mammal medics.

She was found with wounds to her body.

The pup was taken to the BDMLR´s seal hospital for initial treatment and care until a pen was made available for her at the Sanctuary´s hospital at Gweek on 6th February 2023.
Update - 26th February 2023 : Peppercorn is now in the rehabilitation pool and is slowly putting on weight, it will not be too long before she will be returned to the wild.   She currently weighs 23kg.   Click here to see larger versions of these photos below which were taken on 25th February 2023.

Her flipper tag ID number is SL182 (white).
Update - 6th March 2023 : These photos of Peppercorn were taken on the 3rd of March 2023.
Update - 6th April 2023 : Peppercorn along with Ginger, Sea Salt, Horseradish, Kuri, Poppy Seed and Dill have completed their rehabilitation at the Seal Sanctuary and were released back into the wild on the 3rd of April 2023 at Kennack Sands.   Click here to watch a short video of the release.   Click here to see a selection of photos.
