Penguin was rescued on 22nd December 2016
Penguin, 6 weeks old female grey seal pup, was rescued on 22nd December 2016 from St Loy by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) team. The pup was transported back to the seal hospital for rehabilitation.

She was found to be suffering from upper respiratory infection and superficial wounds. The vet prescribed antibiotics and a de-congestant treatment.
Penguin Update - 31st December 2016 : Penguin is in the hospital pen 3, once she has completed her full course of medication treatment, she will be moved down to the outside nursery pool for the next stage of rehabilitation. The pup currently weighs 15.5kgs.

Penguin´s flipper tag number is 325 (white).

Update - 1st March 2017 : Penguin is currently in the convalescent pool for her final stage of rehabilitation and will be returned to the wild in the next month or so.

Update - 31st March 2017 : Penguin along with Polar Bear, Merlin, Panda and Arctic Fox were all released back to the wild at Porthtowan Beach on 24th March 2017.
