Oregano was rescued on 9th December 2022

Oregano, 12 weeks old male grey seal pup, was rescued on the 9th of December 2022 from Penberth Cove near Porthcurno by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) marine mammal medics.

The pup was taken to the BDMLR´s seal hospital for initial treatment and care until a pen was made available for his at the Sanctuary´s hospital at Gweek on 19th December 2022.
Oregano
Oregano Update - 29th December 2022 : He was found quite underweight and had a few infected bite wounds on his head and body. Also had a little bit of a snotty nose. Oregano was prescribed a course of antibiotics and his wounds are being cleaned daily. He is doing very well and his learning to eat his fish properly.

His flipper tag ID number is SL166 (white).
Update - 1st January 2023 : Oregano was moved to the outside pool for his next stage of rehabilitation and get him used to water and to learn how to swim.

Oregano Update - 23rd January 2023 : Oregano loves to entertain the visitors and sits on the side of the rehabilitation pool. It will not be too long before he is returned to the wild soon.

Update - 4th February 2023 : Oregano was released back out into the wild on 23rd January 2023.
