Narwhal was rescued on 22nd September 2021
Narwhal (white coat) is a male grey seal pup was rescued from Polzeath beach on 22nd September 2021.

He was found and rescued by by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) marine mammal medics and brought to the Sanctuary for his rehabilitation.
Narwhal As you can he is quite big, however, he has an injury to his head and also his rear flippers which he is currently on treatment for.
Update : 2nd October 2021 - Narwhal was moved down to the outside nursery pool 4 from the hospital a few days ago. He still needs to learn how to feed himself so the animal care team are still teaching him with the help of another rescued seal pup named Limpet.

As you can see from this photo which was taken on 30th September, he still had his whitecoat. He spent the first 2 days in nursery pool´s cave where he felt safe.
Narwhal This photo was taken the next day (1st October 2021), as you can see, he has shredded his whitecoat but still remained in the cave but popping out to have a swim.

Update : 22nd October 2021 - Narwhal is learning how to dive and swim for his fish. He is currently in nursery pool number 3 and weighs 24kgs.

His flipper tag ID number is SL103 (white).
