Nagi was rescued on 11th November 2022

Nagi, a 8 weeks old female grey seal pup, was rescued on 11th November 2022 from Trenow Cove, Perranuthanoe, by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) marine mammal medics.

She was found malnourised and wounds to her body. The pup was taken to the BDMLR´s seal hospital for initial treatment and care until a pen was made available for her at the Sanctuary´s hospital on 21st November 2022.
Nagi Update - 27th November 2022 : Nagi is currently in the hospital´s isolation pen and is enjoying eating her fish! She currently weighs 18.1kg.

Her flipper tag ID number is SL160 (white).

Update - 1st January 2023 : Nagi is currently in nursery pool 1 with another rescued seal pup named Lavendar. They are currently learning to swim and to compete for their fish during feeding time. Once they both have put on a bit more weight, they will be released back into the wild.

Seal Release - 13th January 2023 - Photo Credit : Lizzi Larbalestier Update - 15th January 2023 : It is always a good day when the Animal Care Team return the rescued seal pups back into the wild where they belong, but at the same time it is a bit emotional saying goodbye after being with them for the past 2-3 months.

Barles along with Mac ´n´ Cheese, Tony Jalapeño, Wasabi and Nagi were released back into the wild on 13th January 2023 at Kennack Sands.
