Mr Whippy, male common seal pup, was rescued on 19th June 2015 from Snettisham beach after being reported by concerned members of the public. The pup was found exhausted and separated from his mum, alone on the beach along with another seal pup. These two pups found each other after hearing each other calling for their mums. He weighed 10.5kgs. Update - 30th June 2015 : Mr Whippy is currently in the hospital´s pen number 5. Mr Whippy is now eating herring with a little help and encouragement from the Animal Care Team. Update - 16th July 2015 : Here is the latest photo of Mr Whippy taken on 12th July 2015, he is still in the hospital´s pen number 4 and shares this with another rescued seal pup named Flake. There is no change to Mr Whippy´s weight of 14kgs. Click here to see a larger photo of this. Update - 21st July 2015 : Mr Whippy sadly passed away on 19th July 2015. It is always very sad when one of the rescued pups dies but sometimes these little ones just don´t have enough antibodies and strength in them to pull through, despite the best efforts of all the staff at Hunstanton SEA LIFE Sanctuary.
