Loris was rescued on 17th October 2016
Loris, male grey seal pup, was rescued on 17th October 2016 from the beach at Trebarwith Strand near Tintagel by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) medic team. He was malnourished, at 3 weeks old and only weighing 15kgs. He had a small corneal ulcer on his right eye and diarrhoea.

Update - 27th October 2016 : Loris was treated with a course of antibiotics and eye-drops for his eye. His eye has now cleared up and he is gaining weight. The Animal Care Team are hoping that he will start to eat for himself soon.
Loris Update - 20th November 2016 : Loris is now in the convalescent pool for his final stage of rehabilitation and to learn how to compete for fish during feeding time with the other rescued seal pups and resident seals.

Loris´s flipper tag number is 309 (white).

Update - 26th November 2016 : Loris along with Orca, Manatee, Seal and Common seal pup Icy, were all released back to the wild at Gwithian Beach on 25th November 2016.
