Kelp was rescued on 30th December 2021
Kelp, a 5 weeks old male grey seal pup, was rescued from Praa Sands on 30th December 2021 by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) marine mammal medics. He was found malnourished, high temperature and swollen back flipper.

The pup was taken to the BDMLR´s Cornwall Seal Hospital for the night and then transported the next day to the Seal Sanctuary in Gweek.

Kelp Update - 30th January 2022 : Kelp is currently in rehabilitation pool and weighs 26.5kg, he just needs to put on some weight before being released back in the wild.

Update - 28th February 2022 : Kelp along with Maude, Bailey, Roni, Verity and Squid have completed their rehabilitation and it was time for them to go home.

A big thank you to two of the Sanctuary´s Ambassadors @lucierosedonlan and @lukemabbott! They joined the team on Sunday 27th February 2022 at Dollar Cove and helped to release 6 grey seal pups back to the sea.
