Haggis, a 6 weeks old male grey seal pup, was rescued on 28th October 2020 from Port Issac by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) marine mammal medics.
He was found underweight, with a wound to his right hock and swelling in both eyes. He was taken to one of the BDMLR´s holding facilities until a pen was made available for him at Gweek´s seal hospital on 10th November 2020.

Update - 14th November 2020 : He was put on a course of antibiotics, treated for his wounds and put on a feeding schedule to help him gain some weight.
Once Haggis has finished his course of treatment and is feeling better, he will be moved to the outside nursery pools to learn how to feed and socialise with the other pups!
His flipper tag ID number is SL114 (green).

Update - 6th December 2020 : As you can see, Haggis has a bilateral corneal oedema in both his eyes, which requires him to have eye drops every hour. Because of the eye treatment, he is not allowed to have a swimming pool like the other rescued pups in the hospital. The vets are monitoring him closely to ensure he is getting the right treatment so (hopefully) he can come off his treatment soon and finally have a swim. Haggis currently weighs 18kgs.
