Fireman Sam, 16 weeks old female seal pup, was rescued on 27th February 2019 from Carbis Bay beach by Dan, Alison and Denise, of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) volunteer marine mammal medics.
The pup was malnourished, underweight, a fractured jaw and some missing teeth.
Dan tube fed the pup with electrolytes before she was taken to the Sanctuary for treatment and rehabilitation.

Update - 10th March 2019 : Fireman Sam has sadly passed away on 6th March 2019; it is always very sad when one of the rescued pups dies but sometimes these little ones just don´t have enough antibodies and strength in them to pull through, despite the best efforts of all the staff.
