Emma Watson was rescued on 24th October 2023

Emma Watson, a female grey seal pup, was rescued on 24th of October 2023 by volunteer marine mammals medics from the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR).

She was malnourished and wheezing as well as suffering from an ulcer in her left eye.

This pup was taken to the BDMLR´s seal hospital in Cornwall for initial treatment and care until a pen was available for her at the Sanctuary´s hospital at Gweek on the 13th of November 2023 where she continues her rehabilitation journey.
Update - 16th November 2023 : This photo below of Emma was taken a few days after she arrived in the hospital.

Update - 19th November 2023 : She has been making excellent progress and eating really well, it wasn´t long until Emma could move down to the outside nursery pools.   As you can see, she enjoys having access to the pool and Emma is also a big fan of hanging out in her little cave (as pictured below).

Her flipper ID tag number is SL263 (yellow).

Update - 8th December 2023 : Emma along with Chris Pratt, Sienna Miller and Tom Felton have now fully recovered and are at the perfect weight 30+kg, ready to thrive back in the wild! They were released on 1st of December 2023 at Perranuthnoe beach.
