Dennis was taken a few days before he sadly passed away in November 2025.
Dennis, a male pygmy goat, had black hair with a mighty fine quiff of white hair on his head and around his mouth. He joined the Sanctuary´s family on the 11th of January 2017!
He was the cheekiest goat, known for headbutting others out of the way, and always loves a butt scratch. He was often spotted competing with the others for the best browse or cardboard box.
He loved a treat, specifically carrots and ivy, but can be very particular about eating treats that were dropped on the floor.
Dennis was always first out of the gate at any sign of adventure and spends his mornings helping the site team keeping the paddock hedgerows trimmed.
Interesting fact - Male pygmy goats usually produce a strong, musky odour to attract females (especially during breeding season), and their sweat gland is found on the crown of their head!

The Pygmy Goats´ personalities are really started to show as you see in the short video below of Dennis and Marvin enjoyed their see-saw in January 2017 after they arrived at the Sanctuary!
