Bridget Jones was rescued on 8th October 2019
Bridget Jones, 2 weeks old female grey seal pup, was rescued on 8th October 2019 from Portreath by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) Medics.

This seal pup was found underweight, dehydrated with puncture wounds to her body. Weighed 15kgs.

Bridget Jones was taken to one of BDMLR´s holding facilities until a hospital pen became available on 25th October 2019 at Gweek.

Bridget Jones Update - 5th November 2019 : Bridget Jones did not spend very long in the hospital and soon was moved down to the outside nursery pools for her next stage of rehabilitation.

Once the pup reaches 30-35kgs in weight, she will be ready to be returned back into the wild in the next month or so.
Update - 25th November 2019 : Bridget Jones is now in the rehabilitation pool with other rescued seal pups. She now weighs 25.5kgs.

Her flipper tag ID number is SL107 (yellow).

Update - 5th December 2019 : Bridget Jones has completed her rehabilitation and was released back into the wild on 2nd December 2019 at Porthtowan along with other rescued pups, Pong, Smee, Baloo, Mowgli and Arwen.
Bridget Jones Update - 8th December 2019 : Bridget Jones was seen at a local haul-out along the coast of Cornwall on 5th December 2019 by a member of the Cornwall Seal Group Research Trust who identifies and monitors local seals.
