Blue Cheese, a premature male common seal pup, was rescued on 10th June 2022 after a group of school children who had visited Hunstanton SEA LIFE earlier in the day, saw the pup on the beach about a quarter of a mile from the centre and reported it to staff.

Sophie and Katie, members of the Animal Care Team along with Nigel, Hunstanton SEA LIFE´s General Manager, went to investigate and found the premature seal pup on the beach. It was decided to bring him in to the seal hospital because his mum was no where to be found. The pup was very young and the tide was coming in.

The umbilical cord shows that the pups was approx. two days old. The pup weighed 9.1kgs.
