Black Jack was rescued on 7th February 2016
Black Jack, approx. 6 weeks old male grey seal pup, was rescued on the 7th February 2016 from Wherrytown in Penzance by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) team.

The seal pup was taken to the BDMLR´s temporary seal holding facility until a pen was available in the hospital at Gweek. A few days later he was transferred to the Sanctuary.

Black Jack - Photo by Jeff Taylor of the BDMLR on 8th March 2016 Update - 10th March 2016 : As you may be aware Black Jack is a Melanistic Seal meaning pure black, not usual in Grey Seals. He is very handsome.

Update - 14th May 2016 : Black Jack along with Tafl were released back into the wild on 10th May 2016 at Gunwalloe. His flipper tag number is 102 (blue).
