Barley was rescued on 21st October 2021
Barley is a male grey seal pup that was rescued from Trevellas Cove on 21st October 2021 by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) marine mammal medics.

The pup was found with a couple of infected wounds and really underweight for his age.

Barley - Photo Credit : Lizzi Larbalestier Barley was transported via the Head and Head vets in Helston for a clinical assessment then onto the seal sanctuary´s hospital for care, treatment and rehabilitation.

For the first 24 hours of this rescued seal pup arriving in the hospital, he was given electrolytes to rehydrate him.

His flipper tag ID number is SL112 (white).

Seal Release - 15th December 2021 Update - 17th December 2021 : It is always sad to say a fond farewell to the rescued seal pups each season after their care and rehabilitation at the Seal Sanctuary.

This time the staff said "au revoir" to Barley along with Moana, Sea Cucumber, Nudibranch, Puffin, Coral and Urchin on 15th December 2021 at Dollar Cove.
