Bailey was rescued on 28th December 2021
Bailey, a 7 weeks old female grey seal pup, was rescued from Port Quin on the 28th of December 2021 by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) marine mammal medics.

She was found to be suffering from a lungworm infection. When Bailey was rescued, she weighed 20.5kg.

Bailey was taken to the BDMLR´s Cornwall Seal Hospital until a pen became available at the Seal Sanctuary in Gweek on the 7th of January 2022.
Bailey Update - 30th January 2022 : Bailey is currently in the rehabilitation pool and weighs 26kg, she just needs to put on some weight before being released back in the wild.

Her flipper tag ID number is SL125 (white).
Update - 24th February 2022 : Bailey is now ready to be released back into the wild in the next few days. She weighs 31.5kg.

Seal release - 27th February 2022 Update - 28th February 2022 : Bailey along with Roni, Maude, Kelp, Verity and Squid have completed their rehabilitation and it was time for them to go home.

A big thank you to two of the Sanctuary´s Ambassadors @lucierosedonlan and @lukemabbott! They joined the team on Sunday 27th February 2022 at Dollar Cove and helped to release 6 grey seal pups back to the sea.
