Angel Delight was rescued on 4th November 2025 Angel Delight, a 10-12 weeks old male grey seal pup, was rescued on the 4th of November 2025 from Porthcothan beach, north Cornwall, by the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) marine mammal medic volunteers.   He was found with wounds to his body.   A decision was made to take this pup to the BDMLR´s seal hospital in Cornwall for initial treatment and care. Photo credit (below) : Lizzi Larbalestier - BDMLR Update - 24th November 2025 : Angel Delight spent 2 weeks at the BDMLR´s seal hospital until a pen was available on the 17th of November 2025 for him at the Sanctuary´s hospital in Gweek where he will continue his rehabilitation journey.   She spent a few days in the isolation area of the hospital. He was moved down to the outside nursery pools for his next stage of rehabilitation.   This means he is on the road to recovery and also has a deeper pool to swim in. Pups in the nursery pools will be learning how to behave in the wild, interacting with other seals and also competing for their fish, which are all vital skills they will need when they are released back out into the wild. His flipper tag ID number is SL341 (yellow). Update - 3rd December 2025 : Angel Delight does not always spend her time sitting on the side of the pool but she just likes to watch the visitors go by her enclosure and makes lots of noise.   Also she is putting on weight nicely. Update - 14th January 2026 : Angel Delight is currently in the rehabilitation pool.   She enjoys relaxing on the side of the pool. Update - 18th January 2026 : On a very foggy cold Sunday morning it was time for Angel Delight, Brownie and Marshmallow to be returned home back to the wild.   These three seals were weighed to make sure they had reached the ideal target weight of 30+kg for the grey seals and 25kg for the common. Angel Delight, Brownie and Marshmallow were loaded into the back of the vehicle from the rehabilitation pool and released back into the wild.   They confidently made their way into the surf, however, Marshmallow and Angel Delight stayed close to the beach for a while, kept coming back until their told to go and and disappeared beneath the waves.   Although Angel Delight didn´t want to go home.   It is always a heart-warming moment that marks the successful end of their rehabilitation journey.   We all wished them good luck and waved with tears in our eyes.
