Ana De Armas was rescued on 28th October 2023

Ana De Armas, a 6 weeks old female grey seal pup, was rescued on the 28th of October 2023 from Towan beach in Newquay by volunteer marine mammals medics from the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR).

The pup was found malnourished, underweight, a few mouth ulcers and very smelly breathe. She was captured by a member of the public (although we do not encourage this) and covered with a coat to protect the seal from dogs on a busy beach.

A decision was made to rescue the pup and take her to the BDMLR´s seal hospital in Cornwall for initial treatment and care until a pen was available for her at the Sanctuary´s hospital at Gweek on the 15th of November 2023.
