Alma - Puffin
Meet Alma...she was rescued in 2020 and rehabilitated at the Beluga Whale Sanctuary & Puffin Rescue Centre in Iceland.   Unfortunately, she cannot be released back into the wild due to an injury which left her blind in her right eye.

Puffins get all of their food by diving for fish, so they need both of their eyes to be functional to get good depth perception.   Despite this setback, her love for scaling rocks never wavered. Although, she is not particularly fond of water, meaning her swimming might appear somewhat clumsy at times.

She was relocated to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary in April 2024 to create space for the Iceland Sanctuary to continue their vital rehabilitation work.

Come and see Alma and the other residents at Puffin Island, the home for rescued puffins.

Alma´s ID tag colour ring is Purple and Yellow.
