Reason for rescue : Malnourished and minor wounds to all his flippers.

The seal pup was taken to the British Divers Marine Life Rescue´s (BDMLR) temporary seal holding facility until a pen was available in the hospital at Gweek. The pup has been named Solar.
Update - 16th November 2013 : Solar was moved to Gweek on 1st November 2013; he had finished his course of treatment by then. He was went through the hospital quickly and is now in the outside nursery pool learning how to feed for himself. Solar now weighs 17kgs and is feeding well.

Update - 22nd November 2013 : Solar is currently in nursery pool 2 with two other rescued seal pups, Halley and Mercury. He is eating really well.
Update - 2nd December 2013 : This photo (left) of Solar was taken on 1st December 2013 in the convalescent pool. His flipper tag number is 164 (orange).

Update - 20th February 2014 : Solar along with Milky Way and Galaxy were returned to the wild on 18th February 2014 at a beach along the south coast of Cornwall.
