Ronny was rescued on 6th December 2009
The Sanctuary received a phone call about a pup at Porthkidney on the 6th December 2009.

We are hospital nearly full it was decided that only high priority cases, that could not make the journey to a holding facility in Devon would be admitted to the Sanctuary.

Ron was a small pup extremely dehydrated, a very high temperature, 2 weeks old, and with scuff wounds to his flippers that this pup would need to be transported to the Sanctuary quickly.

At the Sanctuary Ron was given a clinical assessment and his wounds cleaned and fluids given to start to rehydrate him. Unfortunately that evening Ron took a turn for the worst and was immediately put on a drip. The team stayed with Ron right through the night making sure this pup was OK. In the morning Ron was a little better but not completely out the woods. Over the next few days Ron seemed to be a little brighter, but very sleepy and spend most of his days sleeping.

Ron is now doing a lot better, but we have had to change his name to Ronny, as he is now a little girl. Ronny is receiving fish soup and in a few days and when she starts to moult will move on to whole small fish.
