The pup was rescued by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) team and transported to the Seal Sanctuary for treatment.
Upon arrival at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary´s hospital, he was put into isolation pen where a full clinical assessment was carried out by members of the Animal Care Team.
The pup was prescribed antibiotics as a precaution to fight any infections he may be harbouring. The pup was named Oberon.
Update - 10th February 2014 : Oberon will need to put on some more weight before he goes down to the outside nursery pools, but should progress quickly! He has already learnt how to eat fish for himself.
