Warleggan was rescued on 5th December 2017
Warleggan, 8 weeks old male seal pup, was rescued on 5th December 2017 from Praa Sands.

This pup had upper respiratory infection, eye ulcer and wounds to his body.

warleggan Update - 1st January 2018 : Warleggan was moved down to the outside nursery pool on 30th December 2017 for his next stage of rehabilitation and to learn how to compete for fish with other rescued seal pups.

Warleggan´s flipper ID tag number is 336 (green).

Update - 25th February 2018 : Warleggan is currently in the rehabilitation pool and will be released back into the wild very soon.

Rehab pool
Warleggan Update - 28th March 2018 : Here is a photo of Warleggan in the rehab pool just before he was released back into the wild on 26th March 2018.

Warleggan weighed 33kgs on 20th March 2018.
Warleggan along with Alfred, Grambler, Charlestown, Ted and Crofty were all released at Porthtowan Beach on 26th March 2018. The planned release is a major operation involving several members of the Sanctuary team. The rehabilitation pool was drained, and then each pup was herded into a cage and then transferred to a trailer which was then driven onto the beach to be safely released.
