Towan was rescued on 25th December 2017
Towan, 5 weeks old male seal pup, was rescued on 25th December 2017 from Fistral beach, Newquay by some members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) team.

This pup was found to be underweight with minor wounds to his body.

The pup was taken and treated at one of BDMLR´s holding facilities until a hospital pen became available at Gweek on 10th January 2018.
Towan
Towan Update - 12th February 2018 : Towan had an unusual yellow faeces and so has been wormed and treated with antibiotics. Otherwise this pup is well but is being held back in the nursery pools while the Animal Care team and the vet try to solve whatever is causing it.

Update - 25th February 2018 : Towan is currently in the nursery pool. The photo above and left were taken on 23rd February 2018, click here to see a larger version of these.
Update - 28th March 2018 : Towan is currently in the convalescent pool and has completed his rehabilitation. He will be released back into the wild soon.

Update - 29th April 2018 : Towan along with Valentine, Isabel, Basset, Hugh and Leon, were released back into the wild on 23rd April 2018 at Porthtowan beach.
