Ted was rescued on 16th December 2017
Ted, 8 weeks old male seal pup, was rescued on 16th December 2017 from a beach in the West Country.

This pup was found with wounds to his body.
Ted Update - 31st December 2017 : These photos left and above of Ted were taken on 30th December 2017 in the main hospital. He currently weighs 18kgs.

Ted´s flipper tag number is 340 (green).

Update - 12th February 2018 : Ted has done really well since he was moved to the outside nursery pools where he is gaining weight and learning how to compete for fish with other rescued seal pups.
Update - 20th February 2018 : Ted had the wire surgically removed from his jaw and the bone has set well. He is now in the convalescent pool.

Update - 28th March 2018 : Here is a photo of Ted in the convalescent pool just before he was released back into the wild on 26th March 2018.

Ted weighed 34kgs on 20th March 2018.
Ted released back to the wild on 26th March 2018 Ted along with Alfred, Warleggan, Charlestown, Grambler and Crofty were all released at Porthtowan Beach on 26th March 2018. The planned release is a major operation involving several members of the Sanctuary team. The rehabilitation pool was drained, and then each pup was herded into a cage and then transferred to a trailer which was then driven onto the beach to be safely released.
