Pet Shop Boys,
nursed back to health by the Animal Care Team at the Gweek were released back into the wild - watched by hundreds of well-wishers on 19th March 2019.
Among the pups released at Porthtowan beach was Hope, rescued by a member of the Animal Care team in January after she had become entangled in netting, causing a deep wound to her neck which became infected.
Hope has really thrived during her rehabilitation and the team are excited to see her take her next step in her journey, being released back into the wild.
Zoe, a member of the Animal Care Team said "We are happy to confirm that all the pups went out quickly and enjoyed the waves! Our team stayed an hour after the release to ensure they were safe."
The Cornish Seal Sanctuary admitted the number of people wanting to see the charity´s first public release for more than 15 years had taken staff by surprise and it apologised for disruption caused in Porthtowan on Tuesday afternoon.
