Seal was rescued on 4th September 2016
Five days old whitecoat male pup was rescued by members of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) team and Dan from the Seal Sanctuary on 4th September 2016 from the beach at Portreath.

The pup had been monitored for quite a few hours with no sign of mum by members of the BDMLR.

Seal - photo by Simon Bone The pup was transported to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary for care and rehabilitation. The pup has been named "Seal".

Update - 2nd October 2016 : Seal is now in the outside nursery pool for the next stage of rehabilitation and to learn how to compete for fish with other rescued pups.

Seal Update - 20th November 2016 : Seal is now in the convalescent pool and putting on lots of weight before he is released back to the wild in the next month or so.

Update - 26th November 2016 : Seal along with Orca, Manatee, Loris and Common seal pup Icy, were all released at Gwithian Beach on 25th November 2016.
